Here are the exterior photos of "Our Lady of the Mountains" in the Sandia mountain range of the Rocky Mts. Here we will offer retreats with the likes of Esther de Waal, Sister Joan Chittister, Dr. Heyward Ewart, Ph.D. (specialist in spousal abuse, men or women); and Max Lucado, to name but a few. Retreats will be offered at various times of the year along participants the chance to connect with one another as we pray and reflect together. The community is ecuminical and, as such, all teachings and events will be ecuminical as well.
While the assisted living facility in Albuquerque will house homeless veterans, most with six months in which to live, or less; we will work with the City of Edgewood, New Mexico to establish events specific to veterans on each of the holidays specific to our veterans.
As we move forward and the mission continues to develop a momentum of its own, we plan on offering a bed and breakfast experience with three meals a day, not just breakfast. In times of winter storms when all roads are shut down and people are stranded, we will work with the City of Edgewood and the New Mexico Department of Public Safety to help care for as many as we are able, until the interstates are opened again. There are times when all roads were closed for ten days.
So, here we go with the photos of the outside, tomorrow we will post the inside:
