For well over 180 years the United States government, from the Executive Office down to the likes of Judge Roy Bean on the border with Mexico, have attempted a cruel experiment, an experiment as cruel today as it was yesterday. That experiment is called assimilation into the White, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant myth.
A government, allowed by the people, to commit horrible crimes which would never have taken place in a lily white world. The attempt to force the First Nations of this continent to give up their culture, their belief systems, their language; in effect, to become something other than what they were, not only was; but, is a miserable flop.
Now, that thinking is winding its way back into the WASP culture of these United States of America. All who support this horror are following in the footsteps of a few very famous; more infamous, personages. This is the same tactic used by the National Socialist German Workers Party, aka NAZIS.
The fact that a society based on the premise that all cultures are important, all cultures are welcome give rise to a plaque found at the Statue of Liberty:
“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”
― Emma Lazarus
Nowhere on the North American continent is this statement more true than with, and in, the sovereign dominion of Canada, a democracy which outshines all others with respect to immigration. The people of the Great White North, and her government, are a shining beacon to the free world as to how a nation must handle immigration issues.
