We have been in touch with the Rocky Mountain Collie Rescue in Denver. There is a wonderful four-legged young man up there named Mac Gregor. They call him Big Mac for short. The director called me just yesterday to advise Kay and I can proceed with the adoption process. Big Mac is six years old and is of sufficient strength and height to be a helper for Ms. Kay. We have been told he will not ..mind one little bit when Ms. Kay starts to mother him as she does me. He even gets along with cats!! The problem there is Cats do not always get along with him.
And, just this morning, another phone call came in from the Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue in Northern California. They have a young man there whose name is Hunter. Hunter is the last of eleven pups rescued from a puppy mill. We were told to go ahead and begin the adoption process which will lead to Mr. Hunter becoming a part of our little family. When it rains, it sometimes pours. Now, Kay and I, need to do a bit of discernment to decide what to do next. Do we choose Hunter or Big Mac? This being a pretty important decision on both our parts we ask that you please remember us in your prayers over the next week, or ten days, as we make this very important step. This all comes at a time of need. Sunday, after Mass, we returned to Emmaus House. We had only been away for a few hours; but, Kay was all tuckered out.
Before Sunday, if the keys jingled and jangled, she was up and ready! That did not take place this past Sunday. She is now at the point where a full day's work is starting to be rough on her. I would never in a million years retire this wonderful angel. In the long run, we both will benefit from bringing in another helper.
This is truly going to be a difficult decision. We must may need to come up with a King size bed as the three of us in a Queen might be a bit much!!!!! Peace and Blessings!
