This has been a very difficult past two months. About the same day as MH380 disappeared, Kay awakened me early in the morning telling me there was something wrong.
I had begun to bleed internally during the night and she knew this. The doctors wanted me to go into the hospital. But, I decided it was just as easy for me to eat soup and take the antibiotics at home as it was in a $900/day hospital bed creating a bill we could not easily afford.
The first two weeks, once the antibiotics were started they did not have to worry about me getting out and about as I could not walk further than from the bed to the washroom, no more than that.
Last week, the doctors say I am now good to go. Had not Ms. Kay awakened me the outcome would have been very much different according to the doctors. She has been a blessing for the past ten years and now she is, once again, my little four-legged life saver.
There is no doubt in my mind whatsoever that Saint Francis and the Celtic peoples had it right: our animals are not dumb and they are one of the most precious gifts from the Father, far more so than diamonds, silver, or gold. We, all of us, have a responsibility toward them of a highest order.
Tomorrow Kay and I will be back in the saddle once again!!!
Peace and Blessings!
