Today a kind heart sent a donation through PayPal of $1000. Over the past four weeks the generosity of the people of New Mexico has never ceased to amaze me. Military service is seen as a rite of passage which brings honor not just to the individual in service to this nation; but, also the family of that individual. Military service is a "family thing." If the individual brings dishonor onto h...is, her, self; that shame, that dishonor also falls onto the entire family. This was most evident during World War II. The Bataan Death March is an example how important it is for the sons and daughters of New Mexico to rise to the occasion when there is need, or to step up and volunteer during times of peace. Seventy of every one hundred men on the Bataan Death March were from The Land of Enchantment, New Mexico.
We appreciate every gift He sends our way. You cannot imagine the emotion which runs through us as we see a small child open their piggy bank and pour their savings into our kettle when we are at a Wal-Mart store. You cannot imagine the emotion which takes place when a homeless man who lives in a garbage dump behind a Wal-Mart store walks up and places a dollar into the kettle, go into the building and come back out bearing cold bottles of water which he then distributes to us. You cannot begin to imagine the emotion when the one whom we would serve steps forward to serve us using his meager funds.
All of that being said, we will, once again, be at the Wal-Mart Supercenter, 2266 Wyoming NE, in Albuquerque. To all who have prayed for us, we would ask that you continue without ceasing. To all who have donated, no matter what, we are in your debt. Peace and Blessings!
