Yesterday was a momentous occasion for The Order of Saint Patrick of Armagh religious community, the Emmaus Church family. We placed a bid with an offer to purchase real estate contract on a property here in Albuquerque. This facility lends itself to our mission, to provide assisted living and group home services to our Veterans under contract with the Veterans Administration. We will have room for at least ten veterans. We will also deliver healthy box lunches to the elderly in our community seven days a week. The building already is outfitted with a commercial kitchen and pantry. There is also a rather large dining room. And, without any remodeling at all there is already five rooms which could be utilized as living quarters.
At this time we earnestly beseech your prayers on our behalf as we move forward with this mission God has chosen to place on our hearts. A mission not unlike that Mother Teresa founded in Bombay. A mission where our veterans who have no family, no one to mourn their passing, no one to tend their grave site, no one to remember them and the service they gave to this country by placing themselves in harms way for our benefit.
